A House of Bread

“The Hebrew word for bread is lahem.  The Hebrew word for a place or a house is beth.  Where was Jesus born? Beth-lahem, or Bethlehem.  What is a house of bread? A bakery!  The Bread of Life (Jesus) was born in a bakery! And people chuckle at that: ‘oh’ thats so cute’ — but thats exactly how God thinks when it came to presenting his truth! (It’s not just a cute sounding idea) Its no accident that the bread of the world was born in a bakery. See the picture? Of course the bread of the world has to be born in a bakery. Thats one of the most profound revelations of the nature of God you’ll ever hear. That picture matters deeply to God.” -Ray Vander Laan
